Job Summary:
ThePayroll Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy,timeliness, and quality of each of the biweekly payrolls. This rolewill maintain payroll systems, ensure adherence to tax regulations,and collaborate with internal and external auditors. The PayrollManager monitors and ensures the accuracy of the ADP database andanswers all correspondence concerning payroll and itsstructure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accurate andtimely payments. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal taxregulations, including timely filing of Forms 941, 940, W-2, andother required returns Maintain payroll records and reports, ensuring data integrityand confidentiality Conduct payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting forinternal and external stakeholders Identify and implement opportunities to automate and streamlinepayroll processes Provide exceptional internal service to employees by addressingpayroll inquiries with professionalism, accuracy, and care Support year-end processes, including issuing relevant taxdocuments (P60s, W-2s, 1095-Cs, etc.) Collaborate with the Finance team on payroll-related journalentries and reconciliations Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports formanagement Manage payroll-related benefits programs, including entry andmaintenance of deductions for health insurance, retirement plans,life insurance, disability coverage, and voluntary programs Serve as the subject matter expert in payroll systems,optimizing workflows for efficiency and accuracy. Lead the development and improvement of payroll processing andinquiry management systems. Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance processconsistency, compliance, and integrity. Remain up to date on changes in payroll laws and regulationsand recommend necessary policy updates. Maintain confidentiality of employee information and protectpayroll operations by keeping information secure. Perform additional duties as required to support businessneeds.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Five years of payroll processing experience, including at leastone year of payroll process management. Solid understanding of payroll software. Experience with ADPsystems preferred. Advanced knowledge of state/federal tax laws. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, andTeams). Experience with HRIS/HCM and payroll platforms. Strongknowledge of multi-state and local tax requirements. Excellent communication skills with all levels of theorganization, both written and verbal. Exceptionally organized, strong attention to detail,self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines under pressure. High level of professionalism and confidentiality Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to summarizefindings. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designationpreferred. Travel to branch locations as required. Pass a drug screen and background check (including a creditcheck). Reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements:
Remain stationary at a desk, standing, and moving from place toplace for prolonged periods. Occasionally move light objects. Observe details at close range. Take notes, operate technology, and present information. Read documents using electronic devices and hard copy materialswhile interacting with others. Exchange accurate information in person, over the phone, inwriting, and electronically. Communicate clearly and articulately for presentations andinterpersonal interactions so others will understand. Drive to work and other SafeTouch branches as required bybusiness needs.
