This individual will ensure that employees are paid accurately and on time, while adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements. The Payroll Manager will streamline payroll operations and handle any payroll-related inquiries to maintain smooth and efficient payroll operations.
Essential Duties & Functions Payroll Administration:
Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees (salaried, hourly, and temporary), including bonuses, incentives, and other compensation adjustments.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations. Stay up to date with payroll and tax law changes and ensure proper tax filings.
Record Keeping:
Maintain employee payroll records and other related documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies.
Reporting:
Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to management, auditors, and government agencies as required. Analyze payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies or concerns.
Expense Allocation:
Must be able to allocate payroll expenses by clinic location and service line, using excel spreadsheets.
System Management:
Oversee payroll software and systems, ensuring they are functioning effectively, and implement new technologies as needed to streamline payroll operations.
Employee Inquiries:
Address employee payroll-related inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Benefit Administration:
Work with HR and benefits teams to ensure proper deductions, enrollments, and adjustments are reflected in employee paychecks. Review benefits invoices for accuracy and approve for payment.
Audit & Reconciliation:
Conduct regular payroll audits, reconcile accounts, and ensure the integrity of payroll-related financial data Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Training Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). Proficient with MS Office products. Strong Excel skills is required Strong written and oral communications skills is essential ADP and payroll system skills helpful Required Years of Experience 7 years of experience in payroll administration and processing Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or similar role in payroll administration. Strong knowledge of payroll systems, tax laws, and payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar systems). In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification (preferred).
