We are looking for a highly experienced, detail-oriented and strategic Payroll leader to spearhead our North America payroll operations. As the Payroll Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the payroll function ensuring best-in-class operational excellence, regulatorypliance, and quality control. This includes payroll operations, tax reporting andpliance, auditing, system improvements, and management of the payroll team. The Payroll Director will also overseeplex multi-state jurisdiction wages / withholdings (for frequent business travelers), various reconciliations and audits, and the year-end payroll tax reporting process. This position is critical to ensure accurate, timely, and fullypliant payroll processing for our North America staff (US and Canada) at BCG.
As a key member of the Finance leadership team, you will report to the US Controller and manage a team of 15-2 payroll professionals across Boston, Atlanta, Toronto, and New York, serving 1,+ employees across the US and Canada. Your role is critical in ensuring timely, accurate, and fullypliant payroll operations while driving process automation and efficiency improvements.

You’re good at:
Expert level understanding of Payroll processes and various Federal, State, and local wage and tax regulations, and keeping policy at the forefront of the Payrollanization Leading payroll teams to execute timely, accurate, andpliant payroll processing across multiple jurisdictions
Establishing and maintaining strong operational controls, governance, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure payrollpliance
Driving operational excellence through process improvements, automation, and the implementation of best practices
Proven ability to build strong partnerships with colleagues, desire to be flexible and think strategically Ability to drive strategic payroll initiatives while ensuring operational excellence
Creating and encouraging a stimulating work environment for the US Payroll team through excellentmunication; providing coaching and development opportunities to all members of the team.
Continuously seeking to improve our payroll and operational processes Manage day to day escalations and act as a trusted business partner to resolve issues requiring additional assistance for resolution Creating a close partnership with Finance colleagues across the North America region and in other areas of theanization to ensure alignment of policies and procedures Demonstrated experience of successfully working virtually, and inplex international and matrixedanization Stronganizational and process management skills. Comfortable with multi-tasking and prioritizing within a fast-paced, demanding environment Able to interpret rules and guidelines flexibly to enhance the business while maintainingpliance and governance
Ability to identify, critically think and problem solve issues
High integrity, a positive can-do attitude, amitment to quality and accuracy and an ability to maintain absolute confidentiality What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field preferred
MBA or other advanced professional degree and payroll certifications preferred 1+ years of payroll processing experience including multi-state payrolls, 5+ years managing/leading a payroll team. Demonstrated leadership skills in managing performance, coaching, and staff development
Excellent customer service to various stakeholders
Strong written and verbalmunications skills, with the ability tomunicateplex payroll matters to senior leadership
Strong influencing, networking and relationship building skills Excellent detail orientation with a strongmitment to quality andpliance.
Extensive expertise in ADP is preferred
Extensive experience managing relationships with third-party payroll providers, tax agencies, andpliance auditors Additional info
Currently, this role is in the office 3 days/week, providing flexibility to work from home 4% of the time. This hybrid schedule allows for critically important learning, collaboration, and networking with our colleagues. Specific days in the office are as agreed upon by the team.
