Job Description

Peiffer Wolf Carr Kane Conway & Wise is a national litigation law firm that represents individuals and entities who have been the victims of fraud, negligence, or the misconduct of powerful interests. We have successfully represented tens of thousands of clients throughout the United States in multi-state and multi-district mass-tort, class-action, and individual lawsuits. We are currently seeking a professional with experience in all areas of human resources, employee benefits, payroll processing, and general business insurance to join our team. This individual should be a great fit and genuinely care about the work. The primary duties of the job include: Processing Semi-Monthly Multi-State Payroll; Overseeing the whole employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, leave management, benefits, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations; Maintaining accurate, up-to-date human resources records and documentation while ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive employee data; Developing, implementing, and communicating human resource policies and procedures while serving as a key point of contact for employee and manager inquiries regarding human resources plans, programs, and policy interpretation; Working with insurance brokers and staff in preparation for open enrollment and completion of insurance renewals, such as employee benefits, malpractice, cyber, and other general business insurance coverages; Managing employee relations, including investigating complaints, resolving issues, and disciplinary actions; Advising management on human resource rules, regulations, and trends; Annual reporting of payroll and benefits, including workers’ compensation audits, for all state and city municipalities; and Working with the Controller to provide payroll data for financial reporting.

Skills and Abilities:

Advanced knowledge of employment law. Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll, including payroll administration principles, practices, and compliance requirements. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly. Prior experience working in a law firm or legal services environment is a plus. Experience with QuickBooks Payroll, Office 365, and G-suite software is a plus.
