Job Description

Description We are in search of a dedicated Payroll Manager to become part of our client’s team. This role involves a comprehensive understanding of payroll operations, including payroll processing, payroll accounting, and payroll data analysis. In this role, you will be expected to maintain accuracy and compliance in all payroll practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the entire payroll processing cycle for employees, guaranteeing punctual and precise payroll.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and various departments to incorporate changes in employee status such as new hires, terminations, and promotions.
  • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
  • Handle payroll accounts within the general ledger, ensuring their maintenance and reconciliation.
  • Assist in the preparation and posting of monthly journal entries related to payroll expenses, taxes, and benefits.
  • Ensure accurate accruals for PTO, bonuses, and other compensation-related items.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team during audits and month-end/year-end close processes.
  • Analyze payroll data and trends to identify discrepancies, cost drivers, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare monthly headcount, turnover, retention metrics.
  • Develop and distribute regular payroll reports to management, including labor costs, overtime, and tax liabilities.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting payroll-related expenses.
  • Monitor payroll KPIs to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Stay current with payroll regulations and ensure internal policies are up to date.
  • Manage and optimize the payroll system.

  • Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role in payroll.
  • Certification as a Detail Oriented Payroll Individual (DOP) is required.
  • Experience with bi-monthly payroll processing is necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage payroll for more than 500 employees.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software is crucial.
