Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is a long-term contract opportunity designed for a skilled individual who excels in managing payroll operations and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, expertise in payroll systems, and a detail-oriented approach to support the company’s growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for multi-state employees using ADP Workforce Now or similar platforms.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to align employee data, benefits, time tracking, and other payroll-related items.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and support month-end closings, audits, and year-end reporting such as W-2 forms and 941 filings.
  • Stay updated on changes to payroll laws, wage regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Lead payroll system improvements and automation initiatives to optimize operations.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Oversee payroll tax filings and coordinate with external vendors as required.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to the payroll team. Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of five years of payroll experience, including at least two years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and familiarity with other payroll systems; experience with system implementation or optimization is a plus.
  • Strong skills in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll laws and practices, including handling multi-state payroll.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
