Job Description

Manager of Payroll 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Columbia, SC 29201 Manager of Payroll (Hybrid – Columbia, SC) As a part of the Human Resources leadership team, the Manager of Payroll manages payroll administration and directs the preparation, processing, and distribution of payroll for AgFirst Farm Credit Bank and associates with the Farm Credit Benefits Alliance. Maintains effective positive relationships with the association partners within Farm Credit Benefits Alliance in providing payroll compliance support, guidance, and training. In addition, the Manager of Payroll will lead the payroll team through the HR Transformation initiative. What you’ll do Serves as subject matter expert for payroll administration and ensures system and pay compliance as it pertains to FLSA and other legislative regulations Manages the payroll team in the preparation, processing, and distribution of the AgFirst and Farm Credit Bank of Texas Districts’ payroll to ensure the accuracy of employee earnings, taxes, garnishments, deductions, and annual/sick/PTO leave plans Ensures that the payroll team complies with requirements of any child support, tax levies, and any other federal or stated mandated garnishment Ensures that payroll controls, such as salary control are completed monthly and by HR/ICFR controls Serves as the subject matter expert on payroll tax regulations as it pertains to employer withholding and reporting requirements Helps to ensure that required Oracle updates with payroll compliance topics are reviewed, tested, and implemented Ensures that Oracle has current tax tables installed semi-monthly, and that employer-state unemployment rates are current within the Oracle application, as well as ADP Oversees the management of the monthly general ledger reconcilement to ensure that they are performed by ICFR controls Accountable for payroll general ledger risk management to ensure that the payroll team operates business functions according to ICFR controls Ensures that payroll earnings, taxes, deductions, and annual leave accruals are timely and correctly recorded in the various general ledgers and all payroll accounts, including two master bank accounts What you’ll need Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business 8+ years of experience and knowledge of automated payroll and HRMS systems Minimum of seven years of automated payroll accounting systems experience Project development, analysis, and management skills Possesses a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail Computer skills include HCM system, General Ledger system knowledge, and Microsoft Product Suite Proficient with Microsoft Excel AgFirst Farm Credit Bank provides financing, as well as technology and other value-added services, to association partners so they can lend to rural residents and agricultural operations of all sizes.
