To assist the Director of Accounting & Payroll to carry out more effectively the duties and responsibilities of his office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Processes service reports of the Board of Education each month. Takes the information concerning leave, pay changes, etc. and enters into the automated payroll system. Proofs these entries to an edit print-out. Analyze information input into the Time and Attendance System. Sets up all new employees, salary changes, fund and account distribution changes. Answers all employment and salary questionnaires from Social Security, Housing Authority, Food Stamps, Teachers Retirement System (TRS) and other agencies. Complete SUI Audit questionnaire. Counsels with employees concerning their checks and adjust when necessary. Maintains employee records. Assist Payroll Director with annual reporting (W-2s, Truth and Salary Statements). Calculate pro-rated salary. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate including courses in bookkeeping, accounting, and mathematics. Two years of experience in accounting or payroll or demonstrated competence in the tasks assigned.
