Payroll Analyst Gulf Coast State College Panama City, FL 32401 Payroll Analyst The primary functions of this position are. Audit for accuracy all employee compensation, fringe benefits, and benefits/deductions for all faculty, staff, student, and adjunct positions in Banner. Complete processing of biweekly and monthly payrolls in Banner. Balance, process payments, and maintain records for employee payroll deductions including optional benefits, annuities and retirement contributions, charitable contributions, child support, wage garnishments and payroll taxes. Examples of Duties Process payroll in accordance with the payroll schedule for each class of employees, ensuring payroll is process on time; initialize and complete all payroll process in Banner for regularly scheduled payrolls and all payroll adjustments and labor redistributions. Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; establish schedules and methods for processing biweekly, monthly and special payrolls including fulltime and classified employees overtime time sheets; implement policies and procedures. Evaluate operations and activities of assigned responsibilities; recommend improvements and modifications; prepare various reports on operations and activities. Participate in budget preparation and administration as requested. Prepare basic reports for auditing purposes after compiling data. Audit, verify, and supervise processing of pay including voluntary deductions; administration of benefits, tax shelter annuities, overload contracts and perform various calculations and maintain records. Trouble shoot data base system errors or concerns in collaboration within formation systems staff. Audit for accuracy, all position, employee, job and deduction records in Banner for new hires, promotions, reclassifications, and terminations. Calculate pay schedule and verify payments for all adjunct, professional and faculty overload assignments in preparation of payroll processing. Manage the Banner Self Service Web Time Entry and Approvals process. Collect, verify, and make corrections to all overtime timesheets and all other Banner time entry (overtime hours, retroactive pay, leave without pay, and annual/sick leave payouts, employee bonuses) in preparation of payroll processing. Prepare and maintain payroll calendar. Completion offederalpayrolltaxdeposits,quarterlyfederalemployer’staxreturn, and annual W-2 processing. Balance and process payments for all employee optional insurance deductions, charitablecontributions,annuities,wagegarnishmentsandcourtordereddeductions. Maintain BENCOR, child support, garnishments, and imputed life adjustment deductions in Banner. Balance, process adjustments, and file monthly report for all contributions to Florida Retirement System. Initiate Dept. of Revenue retirement tax payment. Enter all employee plan changes and adjustments in Banner. Complete final wage certification for retirees. Complete various payroll forms and reports (FCSRMC payroll reports, State of Florida Re-Employment Tax Return) Perform Banner testing for system updates and new releases. Advise and assist in implementing future Banner processes, i.e. Leave Reports, Web Time Entry for all full time employees, Banner SS Employee Profile. Assist Director, HRIS to update Banner Human Resource rule forms and tables, as needed. Assist in leave data entry in the absence of the Coordinator of Benefits. Maintain, navigate, and manage online accounts. Typical Qualifications A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and three years of experience in payroll. Additional payroll and/or accounting experience or an earned Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)may be substituted for education.
