The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of payroll processing , proficiency in the desktop version of QuickBooks, including job costing, strong bookkeeping skills and experience in the construction industry. Duties Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Prepare and maintain financial reports Bank Reconciliations Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely payments and collections. Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy in financial reporting. Utilize accounting software to maintain accurate records. Conduct 10 key typing for data entry tasks efficiently. Collaborate with HR to ensure employee data is up-to-date and accurate within the payroll system. Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations that may affect payroll processing. Perform unions contribution reports Qualifications Proven experience in payroll processing and bookkeeping. preferably in the construction or marine industry. Proficiency in desktop QuickBooks software and accounting software applications. Experience with financial report writing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliation. Knowledge of Excel and other accounting software is a must Familiarity with tax regulations and governmental accounting practices is preferred. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
