Payroll Clerk/Administrative Assistant

LOCATION
Tampa, Florida Overview:

SkyBridge Tactical is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Clerk to join our finance team. This position is responsible for supporting the end-to-end payroll process across our organization, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience using Unanet for timekeeping and project management, and Paycor for payroll processing and tax filings.

Responsibilities:

The Payroll Clerk/Administrative Assistant’s Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Serve as the first point of contact for internal and external communications; manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence with all office related vendors. Schedule meetings, coordinate calendars, and organize logistics for appointments, conferences, and events. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, files, and databases (physical and digital). Prepare, edit, and distribute reports, memos, and other documentation with a high degree of accuracy. Order and maintain inventory of office supplies and equipment. Assist in the onboarding process of new employees, including setup of workstations and system access. Manage employee Benefit selections in Employee Navigator. Provide administrative support to various departments as needed, including document formatting, data entry, and research. Monitor and ensure cleanliness and organization of shared office spaces. Support planning and execution of company events and employee engagement activities. Process bi-weekly Payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees exporting from Unanet, and processing from Paycor, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and applicable laws. Verify and reconcile timesheets in Unanet, ensuring correct project codes, billable hours, and compliance with contractual labor charging requirements. Review and enter payroll changes (new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, benefits deductions, etc.) into Paycor. Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure documentation is complete and auditable. Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to ensure accurate processing of employee benefits, PTO, and other compensation-related matters. Assist in resolving employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Prepare and distribute payroll reports as needed by finance or leadership. Support quarterly and year-end tax reporting and compliance, including W-2 and 1099 processing. Help with audits and ensure compliance with DCAA, labor laws, and internal policies. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all payroll-related information.

Required Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 2+ years of payroll processing experience. Proficiency in using Payroll and Financial platforms. Strong understanding of payroll best practices and labor laws. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite applications. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.

Experience working in government contracting or a DCAA-compliant environment. Familiarity with time and labor compliance standards. Knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations.
