Overview:

Avenica is currently evaluating talent for a Payroll and Human Resources Specialist with a fast-growing SaaS company in the healthcare sector. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong payroll background and attention to detail to help ensure payroll accuracy, manage compliance across 20+ states, and optimize AP workflows. You’ll join a team that is actively building structure and scalability, playing a critical role in establishing internal processes as the company continues to expand. Responsibilities:

Process payroll across multiple states, ensuring timely and accurate execution aligned with company policies and regulatory requirements Own state registration, tax withholding, and unemployment account compliance across jurisdictions Manage accounts payable transactions, including invoice coding, entry, and payment Perform reconciliations for bank statements and vendor accounts Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HR and Operations to support audits, policy development, and process improvements

Requirements:

3+ years of experience in both accounts payable and payroll processing (multi-state exposure preferred) Familiarity with Paycom or similar payroll platforms Proficiency in Excel with the ability to analyze large data sets Working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles is a plus High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks or Sage is a plus Excellent attention to detail, clear communication, and a proactive mindset Must be legally authorized to work in the US, Avenica is not able to provide sponsorship at this time Upon completing the application, you will be prompted to complete our HAALO inventory.
