Job Summary The Human Resources/Payroll Clerk is responsible for processing payroll, maintaining employee records, and supporting a range of HR functions. The ideal candidate is organized, discreet, and experienced in payroll and HR data management.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and update employee records, including new hires, terminations, and personnel changes. Accurately compile and process payroll data including hours worked, salaries, commissions, garnishments, and deductions. Enter and update employee information in payroll systems and maintain accurate payroll records. Ensure timely and error-free payroll processing on a semi-monthly basis. Record pay changes such as tax exemptions, benefit enrollments, and insurance deductions. Prepare regular payroll reports including gross pay, taxes, vacation accruals, and benefit deductions. Perform journal entries and account reconciliations; assist with general ledger support. Ensure accurate benefit enrollment and deduction tracking, including health insurance and 401(k) plans. Assist with HR documentation and compliance, including filings, audits, and reporting. Provide general support for HR initiatives and administrative tasks. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Prior payroll processing experience required; automotive dealership experience is a plus. Basic accounting knowledge and experience with general ledger entries preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficient in computer applications and basic math. Must be detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
