Description Payroll Specialist Passionate about numbers, detail-oriented, and eager to advance your career in payroll administration? Robert Half is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist with at least three years of payroll processing experience. This position is ideal for professionals who excel in ensuring timely and accurate payroll while maintaining compliance with company policies, labor laws, and tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Prepare and execute payroll for employees on a biweekly, semimonthly, or monthly schedule, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. + Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations to guarantee compliance across all payroll operations. + Maintain payroll systems and employee records, including additions, deductions, and benefits enrollment updates. + Prepare, reconcile, and distribute payroll reports to internal departments, management, and third parties (e.g., tax filings, retirement contributions, garnishments). + Resolve discrepancies related to payroll processing, benefits, garnishments, and other adjustments promptly and professionally. + Conduct regular audits of payroll records to ensure data integrity and compliance while identifying any potential issues.
Requirements Required Skills & Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience with knowledge of payroll systems, tax laws, and compliance standards. + Proficient in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday), as well as Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting. + Ability to handle sensitive information with utmost accuracy and confidentiality. + Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and inquiries effectively. + Capacity to manage deadlines, prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
