Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Analyst to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This is a Contract-to-permanent position, offering an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in high-volume, multi-state payroll processing and a strong understanding of payroll compliance regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for a large workforce across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Maintain compliance with all government regulations related to payroll, including unemployment, short-term disability, and garnishments.
- Develop and enforce policies regarding payroll advancements and garnishments.
- Prepare and submit required government reports in a timely manner.
- Reconcile payroll sub-ledgers with the general ledger and prepare relevant accruals.
- Support the team by providing backup coverage for other payroll analysts as needed.
- Utilize advanced features of Microsoft Excel, such as pivot tables and V-lookups, to analyze payroll data.
- Assist with payroll system conversions and provide insights to improve payroll processes. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of payroll experience in mid-to-large sized organizations.
- Strong background in financial accounting and payroll operations.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll laws and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with Oracle Payroll or other large-scale payroll systems.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and V-lookup functions.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Experience with payroll system transitions is highly preferred.
