Description We are looking for a meticulous and organized Payroll Clerk to manage payroll operations and support HR functions for a team of 50 employees. This position requires expertise in payroll systems, proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop, and the ability to handle various administrative and human resources tasks. As a short-term contract to full time opportunity, this role offers the potential for long-term growth while contributing to a collaborative and detail-oriented work environment in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Responsibilities:
- Process and manage payroll for a team of 50 employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely distribution.
- Oversee tax filings, employee deductions, and other payroll-related matters to maintain compliance with regulations.
- Utilize QuickBooks Desktop to enter and manage invoices, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.
- Assist with HR functions such as posting job vacancies, coordinating interviews, and facilitating onboarding processes.
- Manage termination procedures and maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Prepare reports and spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel to support payroll and HR activities.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth payroll and administrative operations.
- Track leave and compliance matters related to employee benefits and organizational policies.
- Communicate effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders to address inquiries or issues. Requirements
- Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing and related compliance tasks.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop for invoice and payroll management.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including creating spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with HR processes, including job postings, interviews, onboarding, and terminations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
