This role is offering$75,000-$85,000.

This position is full-time onsite inBrewster, NY. CFS is partnering with a local constructionorganization to identify their next Payroll Specialist. This rolewill report to the Senior Payroll Manager and will be processingpayroll, helping with implementations and improvements. As aPayroll Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurateand timely processing of payroll activities within our organizationwhile consistently maintaining confidentiality. Your primaryresponsibility will be to manage payroll systems and procedures,guaranteeing compliance with relevant regulations and internalpolicies. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, stronganalytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of payrollprocesses.

Essential Functions of Payroll Specialist:
Collaborate with thePayroll Team to efficiently process weekly multi-state payrolls,ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Execute payrolladjustments, oversee employee portal submissions, and act as aproficient backup for the payroll team. Conduct comprehensive Stateand Federal Tax reporting, meticulously audit and reconcile payrolldata, perform in-depth analysis of payroll data, and generatead-hoc reports as needed. Address and resolve payroll inquiries anddiscrepancies in a courteous and professional manner, fosteringpositive employee relations. Ensure timely review and completion ofall payroll-related correspondence, maintaining a high standard ofaccuracy and efficiency. Manage and maintain data integrity acrossmultiple states, ensuring consistency and compliance withregulatory requirements. Contribute to the upkeep of the ERP systemand ensure adherence to Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) touphold organizational compliance standards. Foster strongcollaboration with internal stakeholders including Business, HR,Finance, and IT teams, facilitating effective communication andcooperation to support payroll operations.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, Knowledge ofPayroll best practices, applicable Federal and State wage, hour,and tax laws, or Fundamental Payroll Certification. Minimum of 3-5years of experience in multi-state and unionized Payrollenvironments. Experience with 401K, garnishments, health caredeductions, and PTO accruals. Prevailing Wage experience,desirable.
