Payroll and Tax Analyst at IDEXX Distributions, Inc. in Westbrook, Maine, United States Job Description As a Payroll and Tax Analyston our team, you will conduct payroll reporting audits, ensure payroll tax compliance, and apply extensive knowledge of tax regulations across different states in the US. You will report to the North America Senior Payroll Manager and be critical in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our payroll processes and execution.

Note:

This is a hybrid position. The Payroll and Tax Analyst will work 2-3 days each week on site in our Westbrook, ME headquarters office.

What You Will Be Doing:

You will perform regularinternalpayroll audits to verify the accuracy of payrolldata(input and results)and adherence to company policiesand legal requirements. You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and ensure compliance. You will research,understandandinterpret existing or revised tax codes, laws, or forms and suggest responses to changes in tax law, regulations, and guidelines. You will continuouslyreview payroll tax processes toidentifyopportunities for improvementand automationtoensure efficientandcompliant tax handling. You will assistinreview,development and implementation ofchanges ornewpayroll policies and proceduresleading to best practices and solutions. You will coordinate the implementation of the necessary changes with the internal HR technology team and the external vendors. You will collaborate withotherthevariousinternalstakeholders anddepartmentsonenterpriseprojects. You will work with vendorsto research and resolve complex tax issuesor discrepancies. You will offerguidance and directionon tax topicsto theimmediateteam membersor broader HR department. You will assistwith tax agency audits. You will reconcile quarterly and annual tax filings, including W-2 data.

What You Need To Succeed:

5+ years of experience in payroll processing and tax compliance Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations (Canadianpayrolltax regulationknowledge isaplus) Bachelor’s degree inHR,Accounting, Finance, or a related field Proficiencyinusing Workday as apayroll system (experience with other systems,such as ADP,Experian/CIC+or similar platformsis a plus) Proficiency in Excel (i.e., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and other formulas) Strong attention to detail; customer service, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Ability to work independently and as part of a teamin a high-volume environment Ability to work under tight deadlines whilemaintainingaccuracy Certifications such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) are a plus Why IDEXX?
