Payroll Specialist in Pittsfield, Maine

Duties:

• Processing accurate and timely payroll, including timesheets, wages, deductions, and fringe benefits
• Maintaining payroll records, employee files, and ensuring compliance with payroll laws and company policies
• Preparing and submitting regular reports (payroll, staffing, 401k, wage reporting, tax reconciliation, audits)
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and new hire processes, including background checks and job postings
• Responding to HR and payroll inquiries while assisting employees and managers with HRIS and ESS systems
• Coordinating HR activities such as training, performance reviews, recognition events, and compliance tracking

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in payroll and HR, with strong knowledge of related laws and regulations
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines with strong analytical skills
• Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems; ADP experience preferred
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
