Payroll Specialist Position Available In St. Louis, Missouri

Payroll Specialist (Contract Position) This role is responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple tax entities and locations. Key duties include entering and auditing payroll data such as time worked, taxes, deductions, garnishments, and adjustments. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations. Verifies associate setup for proper tax jurisdiction coding and oversees timely data transmission to payroll provider. Experience with Lawson payroll systems preferred. Key Responsibilities Process multi-state payroll for various entities and pay cycles in compliance with FLSA and tax laws. Review and audit payroll data to ensure accuracy prior to transmission. Maintain and update associate records for tax, deductions, garnishments, and transfers. Ensure accurate tax coding per local and state jurisdictions. Respond to and manage wage garnishments, tax levies, child support orders, and liens. Serve as point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from staff and management. Collaborate with Payroll Supervisor on complex or escalated issues. Conduct periodic data audits with payroll provider. Perform other duties as assigned.
