Job Description

HR/Payroll Specialist
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an HR/Payroll Specialist in Olive Branch, Mississippi. This role will be vital within the construction contracting industry, where you will handle tasks related to payroll processing, HR administration, compliance oversight, and more.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer and ensure accuracy of payroll for both hourly and salaried personnel, following federal and state regulations, and rectifying discrepancies when necessary.
  • Carry out administrative tasks across various HR functions, such as facilitating the onboarding/offboarding process, administering benefits, and maintaining records.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest standards in the construction contracting industry, including OSHA safety regulations, and assist in implementing updated policies.
  • Oversee the reporting and coordination of 401(k) plans with third-party providers, ensuring timeliness and precision.
  • Handle injury claims and worker’s compensation cases, acting as the point of contact with insurance carriers, medical providers, and employees.
  • Utilize Acumatica software (or comparable systems) for efficient payroll processing, reporting, and employee data management.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership to encourage employee safety awareness, ensure training compliance, and maintain proper documentation.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as an HR/Payroll Specialist
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
  • Solid understanding and experience with Accounting Functions
  • Competence in managing Benefit Functions
  • Proficiency in executing Payroll Functions
  • Familiarity and understanding of HR Compliance regulations
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
  • Experience dealing with Worker’s Compensation claims
  • Prior experience using Acumatica software preferred
