What You’ll Do:

As a Human Resource Specialist/Payroll, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Coordinating and processing payroll for Friends Homes team members with accuracy and confidentiality Reviewing and verifying payroll data and reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Collaborating with the finance department to resolve payroll discrepancies Coordinating employee performance evaluation schedules and entering merit pay increases into the system Processing employment verifications and forwarding garnishments, child support payments, and deductions to Paycor each pay period Collecting data and submitting Payroll-Based Journal (PBJ) reports monthly Reviewing and recommending improvements to payroll practices, policies, and internal controls

Requirements:
Required:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in payroll processing Proficiency with major payroll/HRIS systems Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and the ability to learn new systems as needed Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment/payroll regulations Must demonstrate the ability to speak, read, and write in English to effectively communicate and complete required tasks, including training and documentation

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) Experience with systems like Paycor, Kronos, ADP Payroll experience in a client-facing or service-driven environment !
