Job Description
- Job Summary
- Performs specialized advanced duties relating to the processing of Payroll, in addition to basic clerical duties, under the supervision of the Payroll Staff Accountant and Payroll Manager.
- Essential Functions
- + Performs advanced functions that require a higher level of understanding of payroll procedures and judgement.
+ Maintains garnishments and levies including re-calculation of levies and balancing procedures. + Processes and balances supplemental check runs. + Prepares more difficult payroll transactions for processing; requiring a solid understanding of pay policies. + Assists with Kronos processing, requiring an understanding of its Windows environment and ability to interpret Kronos Reports. + Provides assistance to Staff Accountant and prepares some account reconciliations, wire transfers and journal entries. + Verifies accuracy and inputs employee timesheets, including performing procedures to ensure employees are paid correctly and in a timely manner. + Performs typing/data entry functions, 10-key calculator by touch.
- Physical Requirements
- Work requires sitting for long periods of time. Requires stretching and bending needed for filing and obtaining research records. Must be able to lift and move reports, 20+ pounds, several times a week. Ability to work in an office environment controlled by time constraints.
- Education, Experience and Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED required. 2 to 3 years of payroll experience preferred.
