Seeking an experienced Payroll Tax Contractor to support payroll tax operations and ensure accurate processing, compliance, and reporting in accordance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred Experience in a payroll tax specialist or similar role Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations Familiarity with automated payroll systems and software Proficiency in
ADP SmartCompliance and PeopleSoft Preferred Skills:
Ability to interpret and resolve payroll tax calculation errors Experience managing access and reporting through state tax websites Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Experience with tax filings and case management
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain access and manage accounts on state income and unemployment tax websites Retrieve payroll tax mail, monitor team email inbox, and upload notifications to ADP SmartCompliance Review payroll tax calculation errors weekly and resolve issues in PeopleSoft Resolve daily payroll tax audit reports and locality fall-off discrepancies Monitor and track open cases within ADP SmartCompliance Perform monthly Illinois tax filing uploads
