The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and maintaining accurate records. The Payroll Specialist will collaborate closely with HR and accounting departments to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing. Responsibilities Process payroll for all employees in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy in hours worked, deductions, and tax withholdings. Maintain employee records related to payroll, benefits administration, and accounts receivable. Perform account reconciliations to ensure the integrity of payroll data. Utilize accounting software and HRIS systems to manage payroll functions effectively. Prepare and submit necessary tax filings and reports as required by federal, state, and local regulations. Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs as they relate to payroll deductions. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies or concerns promptly. Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures. Experience Proven experience in payroll processing or a similar role is essential. Familiarity with ADP payroll system is a plus. Proficiency in accounting software is required; experience with account reconciliation is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary for success in this role. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the agency.
