Description:
The Payroll Specialist will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll in North America and provide timely and accurate financial information. The Payroll Specialist is a member of the Human Resources team and will participate in many human resources activities such as employee onboarding, employee leave administration, 401K administration, and employee benefits administration. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Manager, Payroll of North America, and is located in our Portsmouth, NH

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform daily payroll operations for new hires/changes/terminations Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely Reconcile payroll before transmission and validate confirmed reports after payroll Timely and accurately report stock plan reporting (ISOs, RSUs, and ESPP) in the payroll system. Comprehend proper taxation of employer-paid benefits, including stock options Process all new state and local taxation jurisdictions Execute time and attendance interface with payroll process Perform accurate and timely year-end reporting of W-2, W-2C, T4’s, etc Develop and maintain ad hoc financial and operations reporting as needed Process manual checks and relocation metrics Perform HR audit processes of Workers’ Compensation Perform 401K annual audits and reconciliation Process monthly benefit vendor invoices timely and accurately Create and support in maintaining internal payroll procedures Assist with all other HR processes as needed
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE
Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Business Administration/Finance or related field CPP preferred 5+ years’ experience processing multi-state payroll Strong working knowledge of payroll best practices Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations Good communication skills to interact appropriately with HR staff and other employees to meet their needs Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically strong advanced Excel skills Working knowledge of Dayforce (Ceridian) Payroll platform, a plus
