Job Description
12 month position 37.5 hrs/wk
Salary:
$57,000 The payroll department office coordinator is responsible for accurately processing the semi-monthly payroll for a large number of employees. Currently, most employees use an electronic timekeeping system and it will be the duty of the office coordinator to ensure the information in the system is accurate and completed timely. Work is performed under the direction of the payroll supervisor. This position is in a fast-paced, high pressure environment as the turnaround of the payroll cycle is relatively quick. The need for a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and understanding of payroll processes is a must. This position is also responsible for communicating with employees regarding payroll discrepancies, conducting research to identify errors and provide a high level of customer service to our employees.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES
Maintains electronic time records, schedules, and payroll data. Gives routine information regarding departmental procedures and payroll calculations. Assists employees with problems concerning payroll. Resolves any errors in employees paycheck and reissues payment checks, when appropriate. Processes, records and files a variety of control records and payroll reports, for ledgers and claims. Compiles fiscal data and assists in preparing reports for financial statistical and budget purposes. Compiles reports for submission to federal, state, local and retirement agencies
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work in a high pressure, time-sensitive environment. Ability to conduct payroll calculation procedures and time keeping tasks Ability to make arithmetic computation accurately. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Ability to communicate effectively. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft and Google Suites. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Financial aptitude, including knowledge of payroll-related laws and regulations
