Exempt Summary:

The Human Resources and Payroll Assistant II provides administrative support to human resources and payroll functions, including, employee/labor relations, compensation, benefits, employee records and various payroll functions. The role requires an ability to handle sensitive information and time management.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Compiles statistics for various HR management reports, assist with pre-employment screening, interviews scheduling, reference checks and respond to routine questions on HR policy. Assists with hard copy filing and e-filing of personnel records Maintains the HR department calendar Assists with internal investigations/grievances as needed. Assists with on-boarding of New Hires by verifying educational credentials and/or Immigration documents. Prepares meeting agendas, staff communications and coordinate scheduling for Department meetings. Maintains the inventory and order monthly supplies for the department Performs additional duties as assigned. In addition, HR and Payroll Assistant II is responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution of payroll and the administration of the payroll system. Reviews the computation of pay and associated deduction for accuracy. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions. Prepares payroll reports. Respond to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting. Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Physical Requirements:

This position is primarily sedentary Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.

Job Type:
Full-time Pay:

$55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
