Job Description:
The Payroll Specialist performs all activities necessary to process multi-state payroll, including maintaining related records, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, processing time sheets, new hires, terminations, leave of absence, etc. This position works closely under the direction and supervision of the Payroll Manager in order to carry out all necessary financial management and fiscal control policies and activities for payroll administration.
Responsibilities for this Payroll Specialist include but are not limited to:
- Ensures timely processing of multi-state semi-monthly payrolls in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles via Dayforce payroll system.
- Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
- Processes wage garnishments, pay levies and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary State office or jurisdiction
- Assists employees and staff with general questions related to payroll, leave accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits and other pay related issues
- Works with Benefits to coordinate leaves of absence under FMLA, Medical or other unpaid leaves
- Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures and records
- Processes Manual Payments/ACH transactions
- Handle unemployment claims and verifications forms as needed
- Performs other job-related duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Experience required for this Payroll Specialist person position include: - Experience with Dayforce payroll system a plus
- Proven experience as a Payroll Analyst, Payroll Coordinator, or similar role
- Minimum 2 years of payroll experience (specifically processing and running payroll)
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in business or Human Resources preferred
- Working knowledge of Workday HCM and Time Tracking a plus
- Finance and or General Ledger Processing a plus.

Pay Details:
$42.85 per hour
