Job Description

Payroll Specialist Zuma Payroll & Processing Inc. Melville, NY 11747 • Remote The ideal candidate should have prior experience at a Payroll Service Bureau level and be proficient in using the isolved payroll platform.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support the Payroll Department in delivering the highest level of accuracy and customer service that our clients expect. Work independently with client contacts when processing payroll. Escalate complex questions to Lead or Manager. Cross train to support ancillary services and resolve client issues and questions. Liaise with Client Payroll Contact Ensure daily dashboard assignments are completed to meet deadline Payroll processing quality control Send pre-processing reports and obtain confirmation of client approvals Finalize payroll checks and reports Additional report requests (Client and Employee) Client payroll funding reconciliation Year End Report requests (YTD reports, W-2 reprints, etc.) Liaise with Payroll Distribution Issues with missing checks/package, delivery questions, support payroll data entry Employee information (i.e. names, addresses, job titles, etc.) Review New Hires Time Off accruals (i.e. vacation pay, sick pay, personal pay, etc.) Direct Deposit information Manage the New Hire and Employee Changes as needed Quality control of data Support additional payroll department requirements Projects as needed Daily cases – NSF, direct deposit issues, report back to finance, wires Daily end of day procedure, once a month a CSR is responsible for closing out the teams “daily day” (audit check and balance) Client requests for reports, questions about payroll, payroll changes, tax notices Workers Compensation, open cases in salesforce, employee accruals

Experience:

1+ years relevant experience (bookkeeping, service bureau, financial services). Worked with and supported small to mid-market size organizations.

Education:

High School diploma, Associates Degree preferable

Specific Skills Needed:

Basic computer knowledge and Microsoft Office knowledge Detail oriented Customer service skills Strong organization, written and oral communication skills Daily dashboard, process payroll throughout the day, communicate with client via email or phone, payroll contact at company Payroll processing Problem solving, deadline driven Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a partner or team Escalation of issues to management
