Payroll Clerk 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars 60 Robert Smalls Pkwy, Beaufort, SC 29906 Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll management, tax regulations, and benefits administration. The Payroll Clerk will work closely with the human resources department to maintain employee records and assist with various payroll-related tasks. Responsibilities Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, utilizing payroll software such as Ceridian or Workday. Maintain employee records, including personal information, tax withholding, and benefits enrollment. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws. Perform journal entries related to payroll transactions and reconcile discrepancies as needed. Assist in benefits administration by processing enrollments, changes, and terminations. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and benefits in a timely manner. Collaborate with the human resources team to ensure accurate reporting of employee hours worked and leave taken. Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. Requirements Proven experience in payroll processing or a related field is preferred. Strong knowledge of human resources practices and governmental accounting principles. Proficiency in payroll software (Ceridian or Workday) is highly desirable. Excellent 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry. Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements related to payroll. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Effective communication skills to interact with employees at all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
