Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to oversee and manage payroll processes for a multi-state workforce of 1,200 employees. With a focus on accuracy and compliance, you will play a critical role in ensuring all payroll functions run seamlessly across salaried, hourly, part-time, and permanent staff.
Responsibilities:
- Process biweekly payroll for a multi-state workforce of approximately 1,200 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations.
- Manage payroll operations for a mix of salaried, hourly, part-time, and permanent employees across multiple entities.
- Utilize and maintain the Dayforce payroll system, ensuring data integrity and functionality.
- Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to administer benefits, including 401(k) plans and other employee programs.
- Conduct audits to verify payroll records, tax filings, and other financial documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely manner.
- Assist with system transitions and integrations, ensuring seamless operation during any updates or changes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Provide cross-training and support to team members as needed to ensure smooth payroll operations.
- Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits. Requirements
- Proven experience managing payroll for a multi-state organization with at least 1,000 employees.
- Proficiency in Dayforce or similar payroll systems, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with Ceridian.
- Solid understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Experience handling a mix of salaried, hourly, part-time, and permanent employees.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct audits and troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Knowledge of benefits administration, including 401(k) plans.
- Proficiency with accounting software systems and general accounting functions.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
