HR/Payroll Specialist CIMcloud South Carolina • Remote HR/Payroll Specialist Role & Responsibilities Summary The HR/Payroll Specialist at CIMcloud is responsible for executing and optimizing day-to-day human resources and payroll functions critical to employee experience, legal compliance, and operational excellence. In a high-growth $10M SaaS environment, this role ensures seamless payroll processing, benefits administration, and HR operations that support a fully remote and dynamic workforce. Reporting to the VP of Operations, This role requires a detail-oriented and tech-savvy professional who can independently drive projects, support employees with clarity and empathy, and ensure accurate, timely HR processes that align with the company’s high-performance culture. As an important contributor within Business Operations, the HR/Payroll Specialist will partner cross-functionally with Finance, Leadership, and external vendors (such as benefits and payroll providers) to support people initiatives and employee lifecycle processes. Primary Responsibilities Payroll and HR Systems Administration Own the administration of bi-monthly payroll processing through ADP, ensuring 100% accuracy across earnings, deductions, and taxes. Lead the ongoing optimization of ADP for core HR functions, including onboarding, PTO tracking, and reporting. Manage payroll system changes, reconciliations, and reporting to internal Finance for financial and audit needs including year-end W2, compliance reporting and audits. Partner with and support Finance team for administration of payroll, tax, general ledger, tax, benefits, and vendor management. Benefits Administration Administer all benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and 401(k), ensuring accurate enrollments, changes, and terminations. Serve as the primary employee contact for benefits questions, claims resolution, and policy clarifications. Manage open enrollment activities and coordinate with brokers and carriers as needed. HR Operations and Compliance Facilitate onboarding processes, including pre-hire documentation, background checks, orientation scheduling, and system setups. Support offboarding processes including exit interviews, final pay coordination, and benefits cessation. Manage employee leaves including FMLA, short- and long-term disability, and unemployment claims, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Maintain and audit employee records in ADP, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality at all times. Prepare HR reports, compliance filings, and ad-hoc data analyses as requested by leadership. Office and Culture Support Act as a culture ambassador by leading internal communications, employee engagement activities, and HR-related initiatives. Own employee career development programs and communication Support management training initiatives and facilitate regular training and communication Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, escalating to leadership when appropriate. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field. 3-5 years of hands-on HR and/or payroll experience, preferably in a SaaS, tech, or fast-paced or start-up environment. Strong working knowledge of payroll systems (ADP preferred) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with benefits administration, onboarding/offboarding, and basic employment law compliance. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a service-oriented mindset. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced environment. Self-starter who takes initiative, solves problems independently, and thrives in a team-driven culture. Nice-to-haves SHRM certification/implementation experience Experience within a Google suite environment Startup culture experience Some exposure/experience to EOS/Traction operating system
