The position is responsible for assisting in the management of various aspects of payroll and accounting. Including but not limited to analyzing financial accounts, conducting month-end close processes, maintaining tax records using state-of-the art systems and financial analysis techniques, and partnering with other departments to drive success. This candidate must have a strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze and detect issues, while identifying opportunities for improvement.
•This position is in office Monday to Thursday, remote on Fridays•

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist and support the Payroll Manager in the coordination and administration of the payroll process ensuring accuracy and timeliness of the payroll cycle in a multipany environment with multiple pay cycles.
Work closely with Senior Management, Payroll Department, and other departments and entities.
Ensure legal requirements are met each payroll through the function of the payroll system(s), and the documentation and preparation of the payroll data.
Hands on participation in general payroll processing in a multi-state environment.
Ensure appropriate accounting policies and procedures are followed.
Ensurepliance with labor law and government regulations related to payroll reporting, taxation, and garnishments.
Ensurepliance with 401(k) regulations.
Ensure accurate and timely review of personnel records, payroll deductions, and payroll processes.
Foster a team approach designed to meet the unyielding payroll deadlines timely, accurately, and efficiently.
Responsible for providing guidance and timely support to the Payroll/Billing Specialists in their roles of reviewing and gathering accurate data for both the Payroll and Billing functions of the department
Actively pursue training and development opportunities to enhance payroll skills and knowledge for self and team.
Ensure established payroll related workflow, policies, procedures, and regulations are followed and maintained.
Inspect automated system output such as registers and standard reports, determining and correcting out-of-balance conditions.
Respond to questions and escalated concerns about payroll from employees and management; follow internal workflow and ad to department andpany policies.
Participate in periodic audits.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required – Or the equivalentbination of education and experience.
FPC or CPP designation preferred.
Minimum two (2) years of progressively responsible payroll experience to include a minimum of one year experience in a medium to largeanization.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated technical knowledge of payroll tax reporting and W-2 preparation.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal & state tax laws and regulations applicable to payroll.
Knowledge of 401(k) plan transactions required.
Knowledge of basic accounting, reconciliations, and journal entries required.
Demonstrated knowledge of Access, Excel, and Word required.
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Demonstrated experience processing payroll using Payroll and Time tracking software required.
Attention to detail required and ability to learn quickly a must.
Demonstrated ability to keep confidential information secure.
Strong team player with demonstrated interpersonal andmunication skills and positive, professional attitude.
Demonstrated leadership skills in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Demonstrated excellent verbal, written, and telephonemunication skills with the ability to explainplex payroll/tax information to employees, vendors, and upper management.
Demonstratedanizational and time management skills.
Dependable withmitment to meeting Payroll deadlines. Willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet deadlines.
Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
