JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW
The Provider Compensation Specialist (Payroll Specialist) is responsible for generating and processing payroll and performing related underlying functions for companies as assigned. The position is responsible for receiving and reviewing system-generated reports, gathering and preparing incoming pay data, reviewing and analyzing data, and compiling final documentation required to be saved for audit and backup.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares, processes, and generates payroll. Reviewing payroll reports for accuracy. Interpreting contract language. Validate complex calculations. Compiling backup for audit and SOX compliance. Meeting all outlined deadlines. Participates as an active team member by supporting other compensation specialists in reviewing payroll and processing monthly and biweekly payrolls. Completes special projects and other assignments as assigned by the Payroll Leadership.
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
An associate’s degree or 5+ years of equivalent work experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll-related roles is preferred. FPC or CPP is preferred but not required. Knowledge of basic accounting principles is required. Experience with payroll software preferred. Excellent organizational skills Excellent problem-solving skills Proficient in Excel (Pivot Table, V-lookups, and advanced formulas) Good decision-making and judgment skills Good communication skills (verbal and written) Must be able to work under pressure, meeting critical deadlines. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a team environment.
