Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team in Brentwood, Tennessee. In this role, you will oversee the accurate preparation, processing, and management of payrolls while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills and a strong understanding of payroll systems and tax requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage payroll schedules to ensure all payrolls are prepared and processed by established deadlines.
- Collect and input payroll data, including timesheets and employee details, into various platforms.
- Configure and maintain payroll settings for various earnings, deductions, and taxability, including benefits, garnishments, and reimbursements.
- Calculate wages, deductions, and adjustments for new hires, terminations, overtime, commissions, and other scenarios.
- Add and update employee information in payroll systems, including tax withholdings, banking details, and direct deposit setups.
- Conduct detailed reviews of payrolls to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Process payrolls while adhering to compliance requirements and coordinate manual check printing when necessary.
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Set up and maintain payroll tax accounts, including withholding and unemployment accounts, and address tax discrepancies.
- Provide post-payroll support by reconciling benefit deductions, funding retirement plans, and responding to payroll-related inquiries. Requirements
- Proficiency in various payroll platforms.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with benefit administration, including 401(k) and retirement plan funding.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple payroll schedules.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and processing payroll data.
- Ability to analyze and resolve payroll discrepancies effectively.
- Strong communication skills to address employee and client payroll inquiries.
- Familiarity with tax filings, including federal, state, and local payroll tax returns.
