Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Controller to join our client in the greater Tampa area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the month end close process, internal accounting procedures and controls, and support strategic planning. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Handle basic accounting processes and procedures. Design, implement, and maintain internal financial controls. Ability to decipher large amounts of transactional data. Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant accounting standards. Someone who can step in and stabilize basic functions quickly.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. 5-7 years of experience in finance. Strong knowledge of manual processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros). Experience with software such as Great Plains, QuickBooks, or similar. Strong fundamental and hands on capability Detail-oriented with a strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Knowledge of automation and system upgrades or implementations (e.g., ERP systems).
