JOB SUMMARY

The position will also require two plus years’ experience in accounting, payment posting, data entry or medical collections.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
▪ High school diploma required ▪ Strong accounting computer skills required ▪ Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes preferred
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
▪ Two plus years’ experience in accounting, data entry or medical collections ▪ Proficient using email and word processing software ▪ Knowledge of practice management and electronic health record software ▪ Ability to perform multiple and diverse tasks simultaneously ▪ Strong written and verbal communication skills and cheerful attitude Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Financial Counselor Responsibilities ▪ Review and respond to incoming correspondence in a professional and timely manner ▪ Review daily legal AR reports, identify, and fix errors ▪ Repost charges, adjustments, and payments on accounts ▪ Generate and monitor daily audit journals for errors ▪ Process credit card transactions ▪ Generate and send account statements for Professional Service Clients ▪ Communicate with attorney and insurance carriers on outstanding AR matters ▪ Assist the Professional Services team in generating invoices when necessary ▪ Process physician charges for all Professional Services performed ▪ Research account balance and follow refund policies when necessary ▪ Maintain physician Expert List Additional Responsibilities ▪ Regularly assist Professional Services staff with responsibilities to ensure assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner ▪ Maintain an understanding of the various roles within the department General Administration ▪ Maintain patient confidentiality; adhere to HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice ▪ Maintain detailed knowledge of practice management, electronic health record and other computer software as it relates to job functions ▪ Complete all other duties as assigned by the Professional Services Manager ▪ Work hours coincide with Orlando Orthopaedic Center’s operating hours (8am to 5pm) Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Typical Physical Demands Work may require sitting for long periods of time, and also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Position requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, operate a computer, telephone, calculator, copier, and such other office equipment as necessary. Position also requires viewing computer screens and typing for long periods of time, and working in an environment which may be stressful. Position could require occasional travel. Typical Working Conditions Normal office environment. Employee must work well under pressure and may be required to work flexible hours.
