It is recognized for its innovative technology, service excellence and depth of expertise, with $351.4 billion in assets under management as of December 31, 2022 Overview Northern Trust Wealth Management is seeking a versatile and results-driven Associate to play a pivotal role in supporting both Business Advisory Services (BAS) teams and their local Northern Trust office by advancing new client acquisition and revenue growth initiatives. This role merges strategic planning, thought leadership, data analysis, and business development into one high-impact position with national reach and exposure to senior leadership. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of analytical acumen, client-facing experience, and an entrepreneurial mindset enabling them to support in the growth of the BAS team and their local Northern Trust office. This position offers the candidate significant exposure to business owners across multiple industries and Investment Banking. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Thought Leadership Collaborate with the BAS team to develop and implement national strategies targeting business owners and entrepreneurial families. Research and support in producing any thought leadership content for internal and external use (e.g., whitepapers, event materials). Assist in tracking and reporting on strategic initiatives using KPIs and dashboards. Compile industry intelligence (e.g., transaction data, trends, market research) to inform business strategy. Create presentations and executive summaries for BAS client engagements and prospects, and other internal presentations. Business Advisory Services Support Partner with the BAS team on client engagements involving exit planning, business valuation, and company sales / divestitures. Support with due diligence processes on new clients’ companies and help prepare private businesses for sale by researching industries, companies, and potential advisors. Maintain transaction data and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) to ensure accurate and timely project and lead tracking. Attend client meetings and investment banking pitches, contributing insights on strategy, valuation, and deal execution. New Business Development & Client Engagement Identify and qualify new business opportunities across Banking, Northern Trust Institute (NTI), Family Investment Advisors (FIA), and future appointments. Develop and maintain strong referral pipelines by cultivating centers of influence (COIs) Community Involvement Represent Northern Trust in philanthropic, civic, and business community engagements to enhance brand visibility and network expansion. Operational Excellence & Compliance Ensure full adherence to all compliance, trust, and investment management guidelines (e.g., National Trust Practices). Collaborate effectively across internal teams (Banking, Marketing, Wealth Planning, Legal, Compliance) to deliver seamless client experiences. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of experience in finance, consulting, investment banking, wealth management, or related fields is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required. Knowledge of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and M&A processes is required. Excellent communication skills and ability to interface confidently with internal leadership, clients, and external advisors is required.

Salary Range:

$94,620 – 160,740 USD Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
