This Financial Planner position is aspecialist supporting broader Investor Services organization and isprimarily responsible for helping individuals and families withtheir financial needs. Whether it’s retirement planning, charitablegiving, estate planning, active investing or managing banking andlending needs, Investor Services can help. The Financial Plannerworks with Schwab Wealth Advisory Investment Advisors to providecomprehensive financial planning services for clients and prospectsseeking advice on how to reach multiple goals. The financial planincludes a customized analysis to address client or prospectiveclient goals, such as: retirement, college, risk management, assetallocation, and estate planning needs. After setting realisticexpectations with the client or prospect, the Schwab FinancialPlanner prepares and presents a financial plan which will identifya client’s current situation, opportunities and gaps, and advise onspecific steps to meet financial goals.

• Providing exceptionalon-going client support by handling day-to-day service requests viaphone and email
• Assisting clients in navigating and understandingSchwab’s website, proprietary investing tools, portfolioperformance data and third-party research
• Scheduling clients withtheir dedicated Portfolio Consultant for ongoing consultationregarding risk tolerance, asset allocation, advice strategy and howthese factors impact the portfolio and investing goals
• Collaborating to achieve efficient and effective practicemanagement within a team-based environment The Financial Planner isresponsible for strengthening the relationship between Schwab andclients who have the need for advice on complex financialsituations.

The financial planning process includes cultivatingreferral relationships with internal partners, supporting clientrelationships based on the needs of clients and partners, andworking directly with clients to assess and advise on complexfinancial planning topics. Candidates should have a strongbackground in client and practice management, presentation andcommunication skills, and expertise in the area of financialplanning. Responsibilities include; working with assigned internalSchwab departments (primarily the Branch and Schwab Wealth AdvisoryInvestment Advisors) to cultivate a referral relationship. Interactdirectly with clients in delivering detailed and customizedfinancial plans. Participate in ongoing personal development andtraining to continually grow as a professional and advisor.

Participate in joint sales calls regarding Schwab’s financialplanning capabilities What you have

• CFP® designation required
• Active and valid FINRA Series 7 license required
• Active and validFINRA Series 63/65 or 66 license required
• Minimum 3 years’experience with creating and presenting complex/comprehensivefinancial plans
• In-depth knowledge and demonstrated sales skillsto close and sell financial planning services
• Proven ability tomanage multiple tasks and financial plans to ensure that anaccurate final plan is delivered to each client/prospect in atimely manner.
• Extensive knowledge and mastery of moving clientsthrough complete and complex financial planning cycle
• Ability towork effectively with internal and external partners to addressclients/prospects financial needs and goals.
• Excellentcommunication skills and ability to effectively communicate complextopics to clients.
• Strong client services skills and ability toanticipate and resolve problems on own initiative.
