Tupelo, MS 38804 • Hybrid work Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Originator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding clients through the mortgage application process, ensuring they receive the best possible loan options tailored to their financial needs. You will work closely with borrowers, real estate agents, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth transactions while adhering to industry regulations. Duties Assess clients’ financial situations and provide appropriate loan options based on their needs. Manage the loan origination process from application to closing, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate. Maintain knowledge of TILA (Truth in Lending Act) and FNMA (Federal National Mortgage Association) guidelines to ensure compliance. Collaborate with escrow companies, underwriters, and other parties involved in the loan process. Build and maintain relationships with real estate agents and other referral sources to generate new business. Conduct thorough reviews of credit reports, income documentation, and other financial information. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and changes in regulations related to mortgage lending. Provide exceptional customer service throughout the loan process to ensure client satisfaction. Skills Strong understanding of loan origination processes and related regulations. Proficiency in sales techniques to effectively promote mortgage products. Familiarity with escrow procedures and documentation requirements. Excellent mathematical skills for accurate calculations of loan terms and payments. Experience with accounting software for tracking financial transactions. Basic math skills for evaluating borrower qualifications and loan amounts. Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations to ensure compliance in lending practices. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client interaction.
