We are currently looking for an experienced Patient ServiceRepresentative/Medical Financial Counselor with a passion forhelping couples start families to work in our busy IVF cliniclocated in Asheville, NC. This job may require occasional weekendand holiday rotation. The candidate will not only have thetechnical skills, but also the interpersonal skills to be apositive and upbeat team member. Position is responsible for being the face of the clinic andchecking patients in and out, scheduling appointments, proactivelyinvestigating patient insurance information for clinic patients andcommunicating findings to patients. Also responsible for followingcorporate policies and procedures for collecting and postingpatient payments, balancing receipts against daily deposit recordsfrom billing software, and communicating organizational financialpolicies to patients.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Meet with patients to discuss and provide written fees for allIVF treatments.
- Maintain payment history notebook for all IVF patients,separating receipts from insurance-billed receipts.
- Responsible for compliance with all HIPAA regulations presentedin training provided by organization.
- Represent organization professionally to all patients bycommunicating financial policies and expectations to allpatients.
- Check-in and checkout and all other administrative roles.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES
- Handle large volume of incoming patient calls expeditiously,providing accurate information on organizational policies.
- Prepare and send outgoing faxes, scanned documents, and mail andparcels.
- Become proficient in the use of the organization’s informationsystems
- Appropriate handling of sensitive patient information compliantwith applicable governing regulations in regards to suchinformation.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- : • Visual acuity and above average dexterity.
- At times may come in contact with viral and bacterial infections,exposure to blood borne pathogens and occasional exposure to toxicsubstances.
- Capable of a moderate amount of walking, standing, and/orsitting.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, minimum lifting (no more than 20lbs), bending, stooping, normal or corrected visual, hearing andgood manual dexterity are required.
- Ability to lift or carry no more than 20 pounds or pull or pushno more than 50 pounds.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- : • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management preferred • Previous experience of at least one years in a medical officeenvironment with large cash payments – preferably women’s healthexperience.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on a dailybasis
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy required foraccount related work.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing withpatients who may be upset about financial issues
- A compassionate demeanor with patients and coworkers.
