JOB SUMMARY

As a Consultant, you will be part of a dynamic consultant pool at Cornerstone Advisors. This position is designed for recent graduates with a degree in business, finance, or a related field who are eager to launch a career in management consulting. You will gain hands-on experience across a variety of projects supporting small to medium-sized banks and credit unions, including strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, core system selections and conversions, and more. This is a learning-rich opportunity where you will collaborate with senior consultants and practice leaders to deliver meaningful results for our clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Knowledge and Skills Foundational understanding of business principles including finance, operations, and strategy. Exposure to or interest in banking and financial services. Willingness to learn and apply structured problem-solving and analytical frameworks. Interest in technology and its application in improving business operations. Excellent research, organizational, and time management skills. Problem Solving/Analysis Participate in data gathering, research, and analysis to support client project deliverables. Assist in identifying key business issues, trends, and root causes. Contribute to developing recommendations and solutions for client challenges. Business Impact and Scope Support consulting teams in delivering high-impact results for banks and credit unions. Contribute to project success through research, documentation, meeting coordination, and analytical input. Help clients optimize processes, improve efficiencies, and manage risk. Communication and Collaboration Communicate clearly and professionally with internal team members and client contacts. Work collaboratively across multiple practice groups to gain a well-rounded consulting foundation. Develop and deliver presentations, reports, and supporting materials for client engagements. Influence Responsibility/Level of Interaction Interact with internal team members and client staff, learning to build trust and credibility. Support more senior consultants and gradually take on increased responsibility with guidance. Supervisory Responsibility and Autonomy Supervisory Responsibility – none. Works under close supervision with guidance from senior consultants and project leads. Gains increased independence over time as experience, skills, and confidence grow.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ESSENTIAL QUALITIES

Technical Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to learn and apply data visualization tools and project management platforms. Capable of learning to analyze operational and financial data. Soft Skills Eager to learn, adaptable, and open to feedback. Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and able to contribute independently and in a team setting. Strong attention to detail and follow-through.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Demonstrated interest in consulting and the financial services industry through internships, academic projects, or extracurriculars. Preferred Qualifications Internship or project experience in consulting, banking, or financial services is a plus. Familiarity with basic financial concepts and client service mindset.
