Department purpose A&O Shearman is seeking a mid-level associate to join our Debt Finance team in our New York office. Our Debt Finance practice focuses on syndicated financing in a wide range of finance transactions. Role purpose A&O Shearman seeks an accomplished associate to join our New York office with 3-5 years of experience focused on all aspects of Debt Finance. The salary range for this position is $225,000 to $435,000 depending on the candidate’s JD year. We offer competitive compensation and benefits package which includes a discretionary bonus, paid leave, life, health, accident, and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan. Team This individual will report directly to the New York Debt Finance partners. The team also works closely with other partners, associates and staff both in the U.S. and abroad. Role and Responsibilities Our Debt Finance associates will join a team of attorneys to advise our clients on a wide range of banking and finance matters. The ideal candidate will have solid debt and leveraged finance experience from a major law firm. Minimum Requirements A Juris Doctor (JD) degree (LLM or foreign equivalent) from an accredited law school. Must be admitted, and in good standing, to the bar in the jurisdiction in which you will practice; or must provide written confirmation as to ability to become admitted in that State or District. Preferred Requirements Experience drafting and reviewing leveraged finance commitment papers and credit agreements. Strong analytical skills. Ability to work well under pressure and manage your time effectively. Class years 2021-2018.
