JOB OVERVIEW

Under the supervision of the Director of Administration, the Pricing Manager is responsible for the preparation and organization of the Georgia Ports Authority’s (GPA) Marine Terminal Operator Schedule (MTOS), as well as providing rate quotations and assembling supporting documentation of GPA quoted services, analysis of service event trends, pricing assistance/strategies and establishing new service event orders for GPA warehousing, breakbulk, RoRo, intermodal and container operations, as well as maintaining regular contact and support of the GPA’s internal customer base to include billing, customer service center, engineering, finance, operations and trade development. This role assists in optimizing the GPA’s revenue strategy by ensuring competitive and compliant pricing while supporting customer relationships. JOB DUTIES

Prepare, distribute, publish, and notify the maritime community of GPA’s Marine Terminal Operator Schedules (MTOS), ensuring alignment with market conditions, regulatory requirements (local, state, and federal), and strategic financial objectives. Provide subject matter expertise, both verbally and in writing, for pricing and MTOS inquiries from internal and external customers, including special rate agreements, service offerings, and clarification of pricing policies, surcharges, and port services. Assist in coordinating pricing evaluations for the MTOS, considering industry trends, operational costs, and competitive positioning. Analyze and develop MTOS rate structures and related rules, identify pricing opportunities, and propose processes for implementing pricing policies and procedures, ensuring quality control and tactical pricing. Collaborate with commercial, communications, legal, and finance teams to draft, review, and publish MTOS amendments. Work with internal GPA departments to develop accurate and timely rate quotes for terminal services, creating tailored pricing strategies for customers and strategic business opportunities. Conduct research and benchmarking to compare GPA’s pricing with competitor ports and industry standards. Monitor industry trends, economic factors, and trade policies that influence port pricing strategies. Provide insights and recommendations on competitive pricing adjustments to strengthen GPA’s market position. Partner with GPA’s commercial and finance teams to forecast revenue and develop data-driven pricing models. Develop and maintain pricing databases and internal documentation for reference. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in rate issuance and MTOS management. Generate reports and presentations on pricing performance, customer trends, and MTOS updates for GPA management. Oversee the pricing and rate inquiry process via self-help technology, accessible to both internal and external customers through the ‘GPA Insta-rate Program.’ Issue new and continuing rate quotes to customers using GPA’s Linksquare platform. Assist in resolving rate-related billing discrepancies and disputes within approval limits. Provide information about GPA’s capabilities regarding field services, terminal equipment, and MTOS rates. Inform the appropriate GPA Sales Manager of new business developments, opportunities, and customer inquiries. Travel occasionally to meet project deadlines, attend industry conferences, collaborate on-site with GPA inland terminals, and engage in business development initiatives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of maritime operations, including container, breakbulk/bulk, and RoRo shipping, with familiarity in port or transportation pricing strategies.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Effective communication skills, both internally and externally, are essential.

Capable of managing multiple requests and deadlines.

Proficient in developing, interpreting, and communicating MTOS rules and regulations to customers, tenants, and staff. Experience 4-6 years Experience in ocean, intermodal or truck carrier transportation management with an emphasis in port operations, terminal equipment handling, rate administration/pricing, customer sales/service, MTOS and international transportation. Preferred Education Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Transportation/Maritime Logistics, or a related field. Licenses & Certifications TWIC – Transportation Worker Identification Credential Required Upon Hire Driver’s License – Valid state driver’s license
