General Manager Summary You will work within a multi-discipline, multi-function team, with a high level of customer contact. You will also work closely with the other bid and proposal teams across the Fairbanks Morse Defense organization for support, commonality, and best practices. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for Aftermarket (AM) Revenue, Order Intake, and GM%: Engage with customers to identify opportunities for spare parts. Identify and qualify new aftermarket opportunities within the customer base. Present company background, experience, and products to customers. Provide necessary information to customers including pricing, delivery and terms and conditions of sale. As applicable, work with the cross functional team to create compelling and accurate technical, and financial sales proposals for equipment and/or services. Create and maintain accurate documentation of proposals, cost estimates and approvals. As applicable, work with Finance on implementation of progress billings. For AM projects, support contract administration through the leading of contract reviews, communication of contract requirements, participation in weekly project status meetings and work with Program Management on tracking of project due dates, project status and other critical information as determined on a project-by-project basis. Ensure compliance with departmental instructions, procedures and/or Standard Practices as necessary to implement the requirements of customer required processes or other specialized Quality Assurance processes. Facilitate the provision of technical support of customers. Work with Engineering & Procurement to obtain material pricing, as needed. Work with Procurement & Customer Sales Support in monitoring inventory levels to assure meeting customer demand. As customer liaison, interface with a cross functional team to address customer requests while creating and maintaining positive working relationships with internal & external customers. Monitor AM customer satisfaction. Lead the Fairbanks Morse pricing taxonomy annual exercise for Maxim Watermakers. Qualifications and Educational Requirements Minimum of 4 years of Sales and Program Management related experience that involved preparing, or supporting, technical and financial proposals for equipment or services. Experience with equipment or services for military applications preferred. 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience preferred. Must have a positive personality that supports working well with co-workers, partners, suppliers, and customers. This position requires interaction with both internal and external customers, so the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of management, peers, customers, and suppliers is necessary Strong ability to read customer specifications and detailed drawings.
