Job Description

Data Mgmnt Rep I PBC Property Appraiser 301 North Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33401 Data Management Representatives play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of property records by supporting the processing and analysis of various property data. This includes handling updates, changes, and corrections to real property assessments, ensuring that all data is accurate and compliant with standards. The role involves collaborating with team members, property owners, and other departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include:

Property Record Updates :

Makes corrections to prior year property record cards and issues Certificates of Correction to the Tax Collector to ensure historical accuracy and data integrity.

Parcel Changes & Updates :

Manages parcel modifications including splits, combines, plats, and neighborhood updates.

Appeals Support :

Assists in the processing of Value Adjustment Board (VAB) petitions and ensures accurate reflection of appeal outcomes in property records.

Data Quality Maintenance :

Identifies and resolves discrepancies in property records, performs ongoing data corrections, and assists with TRIM (Truth in Millage) testing to ensure the accuracy of the annual tax roll.

Audit & Review :

Conducts audits, particularly of GVP (Geo View Port) annual reviews; ensures data consistency and compliance through review of audit results and implementation of corrective actions.

Cap Value Review & Calculation :

Reviews and recalculates prior year capped values to ensure accurate application of assessment limitations and compliance with statutory requirements.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and data entry systems. Familiarity with property tax records and assessment systems Experience with data quality management and correction workflows. Ability to work with large datasets and manage detailed data entry tasks. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data processing and quality control. Ability to identify discrepancies in property records and take corrective actions. Capable of handling complex data changes and updates in a timely and accurate manner. Strong communication skills, capable of collaborating with team members, property owners, and other departments. Ability to interpret and present data clearly, providing accurate explanations for data changes and corrections. Strong customer service skills for handling inquiries related to petitions, appeals, and data processing.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree or specialized certification in data analysis, real estate, or related fields is preferred. At least 2 years of experience in data entry, property records processing, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

Familiarity with real estate terms, property assessments, or appraisal processes is beneficial. Previous experience with Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal software is a plus.
