The Pasco County Property Appraiser’s Office proudly serves one of Florida’s fastest-growing counties. We’re seeking a detail-oriented, team-player to join our Field Appraisal team. The Field Appraiser is responsible for collecting the physical parcel data and measurements which are used by the appraisal department for the annual valuation of residential and commercial properties. This position requires daily interaction with the community and taxpayers and the ideal candidate must be able to represent the office of the Property Appraiser in a courteous and professional manner. Service excellence for every customer, every time, is part of our mission and guides all interactions with the citizens we serve and the colleagues we support. This position operates in a hybrid structure, most time is spent outside in the elements and the remainder in a professional office environment. This position reports to the Field Appraiser Supervisor. Essential Job Functions Evaluates and catalogs all physical measurements and structural components necessary for input into mass appraisal model used in valuing all residential and commercial real estate properties. Recognizes a range of building types, components, and quality to aid in data compilation. Responds to public inquiries regarding methods, procedures and policies related to the valuation process. The Field Appraiser position is physical in nature and requires standing, sitting, driving and walking for long periods of time. Understands and applies appraisal related laws, standards and best practices. Provides prompt, courteous and knowledgeable customer service via all interactions. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Familiarity with various building types, commercial and residential and the ability to identify individual building components. Must possess fundamental computer skills. Strong mathematical and research skills. Excellent writing and communication skills. Motivation to work with minimal supervision while in the field. PHYSICAL SKILLS
Ability to sit, bend, squat, walk and stand for long periods of time. Occasional light lifting is required.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license with a driving record that is indicative of responsible operation.
