Code Compliance Investigator

out of 5 stars Bartow, FL 33830 JOB Performs entry-level code compliance duties focused on property maintenance, zoning compliance, and nuisance abatement. Investigates complaints, documents violations, and works with citizens to achieve compliance with municipal codes.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Conduct routine exterior and interior property inspections.
- Respond to citizen complaints; photograph and document violations.
- Issue warning notices, notices of violation, and related legal documents.
- Conduct follow-up inspections.
- Maintain records of high grass lots and issue demands for removal.
- Research property ownership using online databases.
- Input case details into both hard copy and digital case management systems.
- Assist senior investigators with complex cases.
- Attend training with Polk Association of Code Enforcement.
- Prepare cases and testify at monthly Code Enforcement Special Magistrate hearings.
- Assist the administrative assistant as needed.
