$41,412.39•$51,765.49 This is an non-exempt (hourly) position.

Position Summary List and measure residential property types within Mecklenburg County to include existing real property and new construction as mandated by the State of North Carolina. This position, under direct supervision, is to function in both a team environment and independently to ensure that listings meet or exceed professional standards and can be successfully defended before tax payers, tax representatives, attorneys, and local and state Boards by Appraiser and Senior Level staff. Essential Functions Assist the public by answering complaints via telephone, fax, email and personal contact Conduct field inspections of residential Meet with property owners to explain ad valorem tax process Collect, data in developing the schedule of values Utilize CAMA and web-related appraisal programs

Minimum Qualifications Experience:

Minimum of one year of experience directly related to appraisal, tax assessment, or related field (construction, insurance, etc.)

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?: Yes Licenses and Certifications Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License Requires County Driving Privileges Preferred Qualifications Associate’s Degree Appraisal Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of Listing residential real property types Current construction costs, market trends and rental data Understanding of valuation approaches and statistical techniques State statutes that apply to mass appraisal of real estate Customer service etiquette, both in person and via phone and email Skills Basic mathematical equations Preparing written summaries, reports and other documents Making written and oral presentations and testimony before customers Reading and interpreting maps and deeds

Working effectively and cooperatively with others; establishing and maintaining good working relationships

Planning and Organizing:

Establishing courses of action for self to ensure that work is completed efficiently

Supervised Communication:
